Zithere

Project Description

Zithere is an electro-acoustic 12 stringed instrument. Each string is augmented with a controllable "E-Bow" sustainer circuit.

Zithere is the first of a series of new musical interfaces that explore the following themes:

• Using electronics to generate acoustic sound
• Address new modes of instrumentation and performance
• Exploring new and emergent sounds and collaborations afforded by the instrument
